Key Takeaways
- Prioritize movies that clearly define their primary tone as either a parody or a sincere homage to slasher tropes.
- Check the viewer maturity rating to ensure the violence matches your appetite for gore versus comedy.
- Focus on titles with strong ensemble casts, as the chemistry between characters is usually the fuel for comedic timing.
- Evaluate the pacing of the film since horror comedies that linger too long on either humor or horror often lose their momentum.
- Look for creative practical effects that provide a tactile, visceral quality that CGI often lacks.
