Key Takeaways
- Prioritize documentaries that feature unreleased archival footage to get a true sense of the artist’s history.
- Check the runtime to ensure you have enough time to sit through a comprehensive narrative arc rather than a short clip reel.
- Read the content warnings if you prefer a film that focuses purely on the music instead of intense personal struggles.
- Look for director credits because a seasoned filmmaker often captures a more polished final product than a home-movie style edit.
- Consider whether you want a concert-focused experience or a biography that covers the entire career of the musician.
